Dallas dental implant Dentists - History of a patient

by Nick Robinson

I live in Dallas, Texas area, and he recently had surgery for dental implants.
What is a dental implant? It is an artificial tooth root that a dentist can put in your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. If you are generally acceptable and oral health have lost a tooth (or teeth) due to gum disease, injury or other reasons, dental implants are probably a good choice for you to consider. Dental implants are natural, durable and natural feeling.
Dental implants may be for you if you want to enter: Replace one or more teeth without affecting the teeth bordering the support of a bridge and eliminate the need for removable partial dentures, or support a prosthesis, making it more secure and comfortable .

For many years, I am missing several of my teeth lower due to an accident at work. I was not satisfied with my prosthesis that were launched in the teeth missing for the typical reason. They Wobbler, and I could not eat with them in particular.
So we decided to proceed with dental implants. Of course, I did a lot of research on dental implants and dentists Dallas area. Also, often called the dentist office and basically met with them about why we should consider for dental implants. Often I wanted to come for a free consultation, which often made me. I was about eleven different dentists in Dallas and received queries from them.
I was impressed with most of them. The I do not like too much seemed pushy and often actually do not have much experience. After much consideration, finally opted for Susan Plowman in Dallas because he had much experience with implants and a staff that was very kind and compassionate.
The type of implant that I have received is a endosteal (bone) implant. This is the most common type of implant and includes screws, cylinders or sheets surgically put in Jawbone. Each implant contains one or more dentures. This type of implant is often used as an alternative to bridges or in my case, the removable prosthesis.
The downside for dental implants is that the surgery requires a couple of times, and is expensive. Sure, however, sometimes covers the procedure. He did so in my case.
It has been more than four months since I received my implant and I am thrilled with the results. I had no complications to speak so far.
If you are missing one or more teeth and want to smile, speak and eat with confidence and comfort, dental implants may be perfect for you! And at the top of this, you have many great dentists to choose whether you live in the Dallas area.

Nick Robinson is a Dallas, Texas residents. He is married and has three wonderful children.

Prevent Severe Toothaches - Take Care Of Your Teeth To Prevent Toothaches

by Sylvia Rolfe

Toothaches are unpleasant, no matter how severe, but there are ways to prevent toothaches from happening. Proper dental care can prevent toothaches from occurring or ever happening. With a proper daily regiment you can ensure your teeth are healthy and last your life-time as well as preventing those costly trips to the dentist. So what has to been done to ensure your teeth last?
· Brush your teeth at least twice a day. After every meal and before bed is the optimal route but if you live a busy hectic life where you cannot do this, strive to brush them twice a day at least, ensuring you do it before bedtime as this is the most vital time.
· Take your time when you brush your teeth. It takes time to ensure each tooth is clean. It should take you 3-5 minutes to brush your teeth properly.
· Take care to brush your gums and tongue as well. Bacteria can build up on the gumline leading to gingivitis so it essential to brush the gums. Forgetting to brush your tongue can result in bad breath from decaying bacteria.
· For even more dental protection purchase one of the new dental products that kills bacteria daily on your toothbrush, or if that is out of the question, run it through the dishwasher on a daily basis to kill bacteria that may be residing in your toothbrush.

· Don't forget to floss. You should ensure you floss once a day, before bedtime if possible. Flossing helps to remove some of the bacteria and food trapped between the teeth that simple brushing leaves behind. Be gentle with your gums when you do this or you can cause damage.
· Chew sugar free gum if you tend to suffer from dry mouth. A dry mouth is a breading grounds for bacteria. Saliva helps to wash away germs and acid present in your mouth so without it your teeth are in danger.

So you know how to care for them but there are also things to avoid that will hep prolong the life of your teeth.
· Avoid sugary foods or chewing on hard items ( candies, ice) to prevent cracking your teeth or causing cavities.
· Don't smoke, smoking cause damage to the enamel of the teeth, which is there to protect your teeth from harmful bacteria.

Severe toothaches are preventable. Like any part of your body your teeth are a vital piece of the machine. Proper care and attention will ensure that your teeth last you a lifetime. If you ever suspect an issue with your teeth you should get into your dental professional as soon as you can; after all, a healthy happy smile takes effort. Your smile is one of the first things you present to people when you meet them, start things off with the best first impression, a healthy white smile. Take care of your teeth and you smile.

Tea For Bad Breath

by R. Drysdale

Drink tea for bad breath? For years, it's been standard wisdom that this popular drink is a cause of bad breath (halitosis) and should be avoided, but recent scientific studies suggest otherwise. In fact, research has shown that compounds known as polyphenols, which are found in both green and black tea, can fight halitosis in several ways. (See "Tea as a Functional Food for Oral Health," by Christine Wu and Min Zhu, published in the journal Nutrition: Vol 18, N0 5, May 2002, Pg 443-444.)
The effect is strongest with black tea and halitosis, apparently because polyphenols known as theaflavins are present in higher concentrations in black compared to green tea: to produce black tea, leaves are oxidized (often called fermentation), converting the polyphenols known as catechins to theaflavins. Thus, while green tea has been shown to have many health benefits, the best choice for tea for bad breath is black ("Black" in this context refers to the drink made from "black" leaves. The literature does not address the effect that adding milk or cream might have.)

The research suggests two connections between black tea and halitosis: polyphenols in low concentrations inhibit the ability of anaerobic oral bacteria to produce the foul smelling hydrogen sulfide associated with bad breath, and at high concentrations, the compounds actually inhibit the growth of these bacteria. Though the concentrations needed to inhibit bacterial growth may not be achievable by simply drinking ordinary black tea for bad breath, rinsing for thirty seconds with a strong brew would likely be beneficial.
Interestingly, drinking tea for bad breath may have other benefits for oral health. It seems that the drink also fights cavities and reduces oral plaque. It's long been known that tea contains significant amounts of fluoride, a compound known to strengthen dental enamel when applied topically, however the same researchers who linked black tea and halitosis found that rinsing with black tea inhibited the growth of cavity causing bacteria, inhibited the production of acid by these bacteria, and slowed the accumulation of dental plaque. (See "Tea Fights Cavities, Reduces Plaque," by Christine Wu et al, published in Health and Medicine Week, June 11, 2001.)

It's Much More Than Common Jaw Pain

by Mark Rosenberg, M.D.

It is natural for the body to go through some wear and tear as we get older. Many of my patients feel these effects in their joints and bones. They come to me frequently for treatment of arthritis in the back or legs, but I don't get as many complaints about jaw pain. This may be due to the fact that people who experience facial soreness or difficulty chewing do not realize that weak joints-not simple old age-are to blame.
These painful joints in your jaw are known as TMJ Syndrome. TMJ refers to temporomandibular joints which are the lower part of the jaw to the sides of the head, just in front of the ears. Approximately one third of the population has experienced some level of TMJ, but extreme cases are rare. It is important to be aware of the symptoms and causes of TMJ so you can recognize this condition before it escalates and severely impacts your life.
Know the Causes and Symptoms
Like all the joints in your body, the TMJ can succumb to osteoarthritis, the wearing down of joints due to aging. Rheumatoid arthritis can also be the cause of TMJ, as this inflammatory disease may erode cartilage and bone, weakening the joint. Often, a dentist will be the first to diagnose a patient with TMJ. Your dentist is most likely to notice the effects of grinding and clenching, which often occur during sleep. Your dentist may also notice if your bite alignment is off or if you have a weak bite. All these things may be factors in TMJ syndrome.
My older patients are not the only ones who experience TMJ. An injury to the jaw can cause TMJ symptoms that recur if untreated. Stress is also one of the leading causes, and it can strike at any age. Stress tends to cause the grinding and clenching that weaken and strain the jaw. If you are able to detect that you are grinding during the night (maybe your spouse has noticed) I would suggest first trying some stress reduction techniques like therapy, massage or meditation.

The most common TMJ symptom is pain in the jaw area. You may also have sore shoulders, neck or back. Pain when chewing food and trouble swallowing are irritating, but common signs. You may hear clicking and popping sounds when you talk or chew due to improper jaw alignment.
This faulty alignment can also cause swelling of your face, headaches, dizziness and nausea. Due to proximity, the TMJ joints can have an effect on the ears, causing ringing or hearing problems. In extreme cases of TMJ syndrome, the jaw can become locked, in which case you should immediately seek treatment.
Manage Your Flare-Ups
TMJ symptoms can be relieved relatively quickly, provided you practice good habits of self-care. If you are prone to TMJ pain, avoid chewing gum and break the habit of chewing on fingernails or pens. When symptoms flare, your goal should be to give your jaw a much-needed rest. This means switching to soft foods, supporting your jaw with the back of your hand when yawning and relieving pressure with a neck support pillow or a rolled up towel.
You can reduce the risk of jaw pain everyday by having good posture. When sitting at your desk, make sure your chin does not jut forward. If you also experience back pain, a chiropractor may be able to correct misaligned joints in your spine and pelvis, as well as the TMJ.
Other natural alternative treatments for TMJ include acupuncture, which can reduce pain and relieve stress. Naprapathy is a system of manipulating damaged connective tissue, which cause structural imbalance in the body that irritates the nervous system and causes pain. This treatment may be a solution if your TMJ is caused by an injury that has damaged your musculoskeletal alignment.
With so many avenues of relief to explore, I know that none of my patients need be subjected to chronic suffering. Finding the cause of your TMJ pain and experimenting with the techniques and treatments outlined above will put you on the road to a pain free life too!

How To Whiten Your Teeth Naturally?

by Gena Borzov

Everybody longs for white teeth and shining teeth. White teeth not only enhance beauty but also increase confidence. There are several methods which can help you to whiten teeth. These treatments can be tried at home. It is a good idea to brush the teeth with baking soda in between the meals. You can also try brushing with hydrogen peroxide. Some people mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda together. Never swallow hydrogen peroxide while brushing teeth as it can be harmful for your body.
For maintaining white teeth you should have a proper diet. If you want to clean teeth naturally then it is a good idea to eat lot of apples. Avoid eating sweets and sugars. It is a good idea to quit smoking as it is the main cause of teeth staining.
Drink plenty of water. Water is a natural cleaner of teeth. You should rinse your mouth after every meal. Regular brushing and flossing also prevent teeth decay.

There is a big variety of natural teeth whiteners available in the market. But not all of them are natural as they claim to be. You should be very careful while buying dental care products. It is a good idea to visit a dentist before you buy anything. You can consult your friends and relatives who had recently bought such type of products. The main ingredients of whitening products are bamboo powder, calcium carbonate and silica. Combination of proper methods and diet can give you excellent results in couple of months.

Maybe you've noticed the increasingly common phenomenon of dental tourism in the news lately. Experts estimate more than 50,000 people per year cross the border to Mexico for high quality, affordable health and dental care.

Our network of dentists can take care of all of your dentistry needs - everything from general family and preventive dentistry and orthodontia to cosmetic procedures. Our network dental providers are accustomed to working with American 'dental tourists' seeking procedures for stronger teeth, healthier gums....or simply a more beautiful smile.

The most commonly requested procedures include bonding, braces, bridges, cleaning, crowns, dental implants, dental veneers, dentures, panoramic x-rays, professional whitening, root canal, and even complete smile makeovers, such as a combination of whitening, veneers, bridges, crowns and bonding to achieve a whole new smile.
Before undergoing any cosmetic dentistry treatment it is important to consider the advantages and disadvantages of any procedure. For example, while a disadvantage of any teeth whitening method is that its effects will fade with time, a benefit of whitening in general is that as a process it makes no structural changes to a tooth. At some point in the future you can decide to or decide not to undergo the teeth whitening process again.
In contrast, having porcelain veneers or dental crowns placed means that there will always need to be a porcelain veneer or dental crown on the tooth. So, if a crown or veneer comes off, breaks, or just deteriorates from a standpoint of its appearance, another crown or veneer will need to be made.
Your dentist can provide you with a cosmetic dentistry makeover simulation to demonstrate what to expect from many of these procedures.
Let your smile make the world a better place! Contact Health Travel Guides today at www.healthtravelguides.com and request your personalized dental quote today.

Dental Care For The Kids

by Alet Viegas

The latest definition of pediatric dentistry as given by the ADA is as follows:-
“Pediatric dentistry is an age-defined specialty that provides primary and comprehensive preventive and therapeutic health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.”
This definition given by the ADA is very comprehensive and covers a whole lot of points. Firstly, the clause “age-defined” points out that, pediatric dentists have no limitations on the type of treatments they offer and it is specifically done for infants and children through adolescence till a specific age. The primary and comprehensive care part signifies that there is no need for a referral of patients. Parents can get their children treated just as they do it with a paediatrician. The definition also lays out that pediatric dentists will treat children right from infancy till their late teens.
Unfortunately quite a sizable percentage of America’s children population suffers from serious dental diseases that are potentially dangerous. Unlike other diseases like flu or cold these won’t go away unless they are properly treated. These serious diseases are required to be done with the utmost of care so that the young patients are comfortable. If left untreated these diseases could lead to serious repercussions like mental problems. So the need of sedation arises while treating them. The AAPD takes the best precautions possible to ensure that no accident takes place which might result in the child getting injured or even dying. Till date, there hasn’t been a single case of morbidity or mortality in the AAPD’s records.
Sedation dentistry is the term provided to the method of providing sedation to the patient for undergoing a vital dental operation. It generally helps the patient to lose consciousness and thus track of time. He may feel that the operation lasted only for a couple of minutes while it may have taken up to many hours. Many people suffer from the common phobia of visiting the dentist. Accordingly, negligence in taking care of teeth leads to numerous diseases. These diseases are often of a very serious nature. The process of sedation dentistry helps addressing these problems by lowering the patient’s apprehensions. Treatments of a very serious proportions and which might have generally taken many sessions are completed in a couple of sessions. Almost all the dentists are offering sedation dentistry nowadays but the level of experience varies from dentist to dentist.
The meaning of the word ‘sedation’ as defined in the Oxford dictionary is to administer someone with a drug to make him or her drowsy or asleep. It affects the central nervous system of the human body and produces an overall calm and relaxed effect. The various types of sedative drugs are tranquillizers, sleeping pills and anti-depressants. These can be administered in a variety of ways. In the past, IV sedation was use to sedate dental patients. Now with the growth in technology, oral and inhale sedation are also available. These methods are very popular with the patients as compared to the IV sedation. Sedation dentistry has given an option to many people who were scared of suffering pain during the treatment.

When the sedation is administered, a person doesn’t sleep off, he merely feels sleepy. Therefore, sedation dentistry should be termed as sleep dentistry. In case of existence of some complex medical problems, sedation is not used. In its place, general anesthesia is used which induces a deeper sleep. Sedation puts patients in an alleviated state and thus making them feel or remember very little of the actual process.
Sedation dentistry is used on children albeit in restricted doses. Most children have a phobia of the dentist. So this is used to calm and soothe their inhibitions so that the dental surgery can be carried out. Also, it helps alleviate the fear so that it doesn’t haunt them in their adulthood.
Often it becomes very necessary to be treated by a highly experienced sedation dentist because some cases require a high dose to be given. A dentist having additional trained expertise should administer these doses as these are very sensitive cases and a minute mistake can result in death. The different methods of sedations administered are oral conscious sedation dentistry, inhalation conscious sedation dentistry, intravenous conscious sedation dentistry and intramuscular conscious sedation dentistry. Patients administered oral sedation are not allowed to drive a car 24 hours following the appointment. It is generally given to the patient an hour prior to the appointment. Sedation by inhalation uses nitrous oxide. This is the most common method used by almost 35% of all American dentists. The advantage of this method is that the patient can resume his activities almost immediately after the treatment is done. IV sedation is not as readily available as the aforementioned types of sedation but it is one of the safest methods for complex treatments. Dentists using this method are given advanced training and certification by their state dental organizations. The last method is intramuscular sedation. This is a pretty effective method of sedation in cases of adults having mild dental anxiety. It is used more in case of fearful children. This sedation takes effect in 20-30 minutes after being administered.
Coming back to pediatric dentistry, most parents or guardians are unsure as to when should be their child’s first dental visit. Some parents might even be advised by their family dentist not to take the child for a check-up until all the primary teeth are up. This may take 2-3 years at an average or in some cases even 6 years. Such type of delay can lead to unfavorable dental conditions which might not be in the best interests of the child. The AAPD asks parents and other care providers to have the child examined on the completion of 12 months.
Here the pediatric dentist generally records the medical and dental history of the family and the child. During the first visit the parents are asked to stay back in the clinic. The main aim of this visit is to find out the child’s risk of developing oral or dental diseases. The pediatric dentist also determines the correct pace of development of teeth, that is, how many teeth at a particular age.
Caries is an infectious disease that affects infants. Inappropriate feeding patterns can lead to this disease. This type of tooth decay affects the child, the parents and the pediatric dentist to a great extent. An early recognition and intervention can lead to successful treatment or at the very least checking the spread of the disease. The factors essential for the spread of the Caries disease are:-
1. Teeth must be present.
2. Bacteria must be present
3. There must be food for the bacteria to fee on
4. Caries needs time to develop
The teeth start to erupt generally by the end of 6 months. By 12 months a number of teeth start to grow. All the upper and lower incisors have already erupted by the end of 12 months. The bacterium that is the cause of Caries is Streptococcus Mutans. It doesn’t appear until after the eruption of teeth in the infant. The Streptococcus mutans in itself doesn’t adhere to the teeth but it requires other bacteria to form a colony. The food that acts as the food for the bacteria is generally milk, juice or any other sweetened food. There must be a prolonged period of time for the bacteria to carry out demineralization of the teeth and take its toll. The bedtime bottle of milk is usually the most dangerous.
If it is diagnosed early then re-mineralization can be carried out but if it has already reached a higher stage, then extraction may be the best option. The pediatric dentist advises the best course of action to follow for the parents. Very young children may need sedation for the treatment.
People generally have a high degree of trust on the dentists they have been going to for treatment. So when they have to seek a new dentist for whatever reasons such as after moving to a new area or just due to some other reasons, they land up in a soup. Their judgment is impaired by the pat experiences and they tend to make wrong decisions.
Moving to a new area or just finding a new dentist, these tips would help you greatly. If you are moving to a new area, then ask your old dentist if he can refer someone to you. Some good sources to ask for new dentists even if you are staying in your old area are friends, family members, church members, co-workers, and your pharmacist. A good way to get detailed information about all dentists in your area or the area of your interest is to go online. Web sites usually provide exhaustive information on doctors and medical practitioners. A call to the nearest dental school clinic can also yield results.
Now that you have found a number of dentists in the area, the next step is to check out on them. One of the most important things to figure out is the distance of the clinic from your home. It should be at an accessible area, not being too far off. The clinic could also be situated near your office. Find out whether it would be easy to get appointments suiting your needs. Look around for the cleanliness of the clinic and the instruments. The instruments should be properly sterilized otherwise there’s a risk of contacting diseases. The dentist should be wearing a glove, mask and gown. The interaction between the dentist and his staff should be cordial and peaceful. Now speak to the doctor about your dental history. Explain to him any problems and treatments in your past. Notice the manner in which he explains the preventative measures and treatments to you. Would you be comfortable sharing all concerns? Clear all the matters relating to fees, payment and insurance. These should be done before the treatment. Inquire whether he provides emergency, after-hours treatment. This is a good idea if you have rigid working hours that continue long into the evening. Find out about his education and degrees and ask him what continued education has he taken to keep abreast with the latest changes in dental technology.
Another thing to find out about the schedule of the dentist is whether he is taking new patients. Because some doctors owing to their jam-packed schedules rarely take new patients. Does he treat patients with special cases such as physical handicap, diabetes, HIV/aids, autism and special needs children? There are some dentists who treat only these cases so it might be better to look for such a dentist if the patient suffers from anyone of them. The techniques which the dentist offers as means of sedation to counter dental phobia, does he check children as well as adults, is there a payment for missed or broken appointments, need to be looked into. It is always better to find out the various types of payment plans which the dentist might be offering. Most clinics offer payment plans with no interest nowadays. If you have dental insurance, ask the dentist whether they accept it. If they do, then will they file the claims or will you have to do it? Also will he accept partial pay from you or will you have to pay the whole amount and be reimbursed by the insurance company later.

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Professional Teeth Whitening?

by Zaneta Kulaga

Professional teeth whitening is the quickest way to whiten your teeth and get the results that you want. It may take more than one trip to the dentist to get exactly the result you want, but usually, the treatment lasts only one hour per session. The bleaching agent is sped up using light, heat, or even a laser sometimes. You can get the latest technology and the safest methods to whiten your teeth.
Professional Expertise and Results
There's no question that getting teeth whitening with a dentist can avoid some nasty mistakes. For instance, they may be able to whiten teeth with excessive white dental work without looking all uneven or damaging it. They will know which teeth to avoid and which to treat. They know what techniques to use that are safest for you too. They will use a mouth guard to help preserve your gums and be careful to keep your smile bright while keeping them healthy too.

Dentists can use either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide gels. They can also use a very high concentration of the whitening agent that won't be available to you over-the-counter. The reason for this is they are trained to use these products safely and with good results. You won't just get your front teeth whitened, as in using strips, but have the full set of chompers done. So, when you smile, you don't have to be worried that there is any patchwork showing.
Cost
This can be the most expensive way to whiten your teeth. Expect to pay anywhere from $400 to $900 dollars, depending on how difficult your teeth are to whiten and what shade you want. You will get really good results for your money, and may even be given a touch-up kit to allow you to maintain the dentist-fresh whiteness longer.

by James Goober

Bad breath is a condition a lot of people suffer from, unfortunately. Having bad breath can be embarrassing at times, especially when having a conversation with your co-workers at a meeting, for example. Fortunately there things you can do, read on to find out how to get rid of bad breath.
Bad breath is in many cases caused poor dental hygiene, leftover food sitting in your teeth for hours, days even. However, a lot of times people keep their teeth clean, but their breath still smells.
The reason for that is, your tongue and throat contain bacteria, and leftover food as well, that releases smelly odor when they are deprived of oxygen.

Finding A Dentist In My Area

by Greg Shuey

Going to the dentist is a funny thing. Why?, because people hate it. When people hate doing something, they delay it. When you delay something like going to the dentist, it only makes things worse. Once you have delayed it for so long, you fear going back because you don't want to find out about all the bad things that are now in your mouth from delaying your visits, and so you delay it longer, and the cycle gets worse and worse. This is what happened to a friend of mine with a dentist in my area. Once he finally went back (after about 6 years) he had 14 cavities! This goes to show that you've got to take care if your dental needs on a consistent basis.
The truth is that dentist understand of the kinds of fears people have when visiting them. For people like me to overcome my fear of going to the dentist, I needed to find a dentist in my area that had an office full of up-to-date technology. The newer dental tools and techniques are ever increasing in their ability to make a visit to the dentist a piece of cake.

So, how could I find a dentist in my area that was up-to-date? There are many resources available to help anyone do this. First, you can ask friends or relatives about their dentist. They can tell you how good of a job their dentist does at making them feel comfortable. Another good resource is the American Dental Association. You can either call them or contact them through their website. They can refer you to a good dentist in your area. Many people use the yellow pages to find a dentist, however, when finding a dentist in my area, I don't use this resource because it doesn't offer you a comparison or contrast of any of the dentists around you, only a contact list. Some yellow pages dental ads are flashy and try to look like an appealing place to get your dental work done, but you should never make your decision based off of a yellow pages ad. The only things a yellow pages ad is good for is contact information and to know how long a dentist has been in that area.
Other things you can do include researching a particular dentist's name online. Research the links that come up when you search for his or her name. This will allow you to discover how long he or she has been doing dental work in the area, where they went to dental school etc. When I want to get the best dentist in my area, I will always take the time to go through this comparison process.

I have done a lot of research on finding a dentist in my area. Through my research I have been able to locate a dentist in my area and help other people do the same. Visit http://adentistinmyarea.com for more information today!

Can Some Foods Act As A Natural Cure For Bad Breath?

by Jason Davidson

If you're one of the many thousands of people who suffer from chronic bad breath on a regular basis, chances are you've likely tried lots of those conventional so-called bad breath remedies in an attempt to cure your halitosis problem.
But despite what they might promise on the packaging, you might also be only too aware that unfortunately many of these products fail miserably to live up to their hype.
In fact, this might well be the very reason for the increase in popularity in recent years of more unusual bad breath treatments and solutions, such as herbal preparations and home concoctions. More and more people are now turning their back on traditional oral hygiene products in favor of more unusual methods.
And a quick look at some of the comments and posts on various online bad breath support forums would seem to suggest that some people are indeed finding some success using less conventional methods of treatment.
It's easy to understand the appeal of finding a really good natural cure for bad breath. For a start, it means you're not subjecting your body to any harsh chemicals or medications which may prove to be habit-forming at a later date.
And they're also often much cheaper than many expensive over-the-counter-products, the costs of which can soon mount up when you have to keep using them on a regular basis just to keep your smelly breath at bay.
One particular way in which some people are attempting to cure bad breath naturally is through the use of foods.

In general, there are 3 main categories of foods which some people believe can help to alleviate bad breath. These are:
1. Fiber-rich crunchy fruit and vegetables - eating crunchy fruit and veggies such as apples, carrots and celery can help to stimulate the production of saliva in your mouth. This is especially important from a bad breath point of view as a dry mouth is one of the factors that can cause your mouth to smell.
You may not be aware, but the number one cause of bad breath is bacteria that you have in your mouth. When aggravated, these bacteria can multiply in excessive numbers and it's this that frequently leads to bad breath.
And one of the things that these bacteria absolutely love is a dry environment. Therefore, keeping your mouth moist is one of the ways you can keep these bacteria in check.
And this is why it's so important to keep yourself properly hydrated by drinking a sufficient amount of still, unflavored water every day. Many health experts recommend that you should consume about 8 glasses a day for optimum health benefits.
2. Foods high in vitamin C - berries and citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruits which contain high levels of vitamin C may help to prevent the development of gingivitis and gum disease, another two things which can contribute to halitosis.
And as an extra bonus, as well as helping to minimize any rotten stenchs coming from your mouth, vitamin C is also a very powerful antioxidant and can help to protect the cells of your body from the damaging effects of harmful free radicals.
3. Yoghurt containing live cultures - a recent dental study found that eating a serving of yoghurt with active cultures every day can help to reduce the amount of odor-causing sulphur dioxide in a person's mouth.
Lower incidences of gum diease and plaque build up were also reported among the study's participants.
Well, the jury might still out on whether these foods can with absolute certainty help to cure bad breath. But if you've already tried conventional treatments in the past without success, then you might well want to give them a go.
After all, you've really got nothing to lose - except your bad breath, that is!

by Rishabh Kumar Mahawar

Cosmetic dentistry (CD) involves dental procedures with the aim of improving the overall look of your smile. CD aims to create a beautiful smile which can have numerous knock on effects in an individual's self-confidence, self-esteem and even personal relationships. TV shows such as "extreme makeover" has created a public awareness about CD and its accessibility.
Why have Cosmetic Dentistry?
Are you unhappy with your smile? Do you want to change your smile to improve the colour, shape or length of your teeth, change the appearance of your gums or lips to give your overall smile a more aesthetically appealing look?
A recent survey revealed that:
• Over 75% of people don't feel confident to smile in photographs
• Over 45% of people make judgments about people by the look of their smile
• Over 75% of people think that a beautiful smile helps people psychologically
• Over 65% of people think that an attractive smile helps romantically
Cosmetic dentistry or smile makeover involves one or more cosmetic dental procedures to improve the aesthetics of your smile in a way that you want. CD or a smile makeover to one person could mean something completely different to another person and it is a very individual choice e.g. some people want the perfectly white "Hollywood smile" with pearly white porcelain veneers. Other people may just want a simple improvement such as the replacement of silver fillings with cosmetic white fillings and teeth whitening. What ever the reasons for you disliking your smile there are many different ways in which you can improve it using modern CD:
Cosmetic dentistry for Crooked teeth.
Crooked teeth can be straightened with Invisalign braces or conventional orthodontics. They can also be covered with porcelain veneers for a faster solution, often referred to as "instant orthodontics".

Cosmetic Dentistry for broken teeth.
Chipped, broken teeth can be repaired - the treatment available will depend on the extent of damage but the options include cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers or porcelain crowns.
Cosmetic dentistry for Missing teeth.
Missing teeth can be replaced - gaps between your teeth can cause functional problems as well as being unsightly. Solutions include dental Implants, a dental bridge or a denture.
Cosmetic dentistry and 'gappy teeth'.
Gaps between your teeth can be closed to give your smile a more evenlook. This can be achieved instantly with porcelain veneers. Orthodontics can also be used to move the teeth and close the gaps between them.
Cosmetic dentistry for Gummy smile
If you have a gummy smile, this can easily be remedied by surgical or laser gum contouring. This is known as a Gum Lift.
Cosmetic dentistry for Discoloured teeth.
If you are not satisfied with the colour of your teeth or if you have badly stained teeth they can be treated with professional teeth whitening.
Cosmetic treatments for facial lines
If you have deep smile lines, frown lines or lips that have lost their fullness, these can all be improved using a combination of Botox and dermal filler treatments.
The end result of CD or a smile makeover for many people is to have a smile to be proud of that is straight, white and perfectly aligned.
How much does a cosmetic dentistry or a smile makeover cost?
This will depend on many factors:
• The treatment required
• The skill of your cosmetic dentist
• The clinic where the treatment is carried out
• The quality of materials used for your work.

Dental Braces - A Little Information To Get You Going!

by Thom Richards

If you or a member of your family needs dental braces, you may be in for a little "sticker shock". Braces can cost from $5000.00 upwards depending upon whether they are metal, Invisalign or ceramic.
The traditional braces are metal and are the least expensive. They will probably be the choice if your teeth need extensive realignment. They are also the least attractive because of the "metal mouth" look.
Be prepared to pay up to $500.00 more for Invisalign and ceramic dental braces. Why? A little more work and material cost is involved, but you are "going to like the way you look".
Ceramic braces are blended in with the natural color of your teeth. On the other hand, the Invisalign system is a series of clear removable plastic aligners. However, with these two types of custom braces, no one is going to call you "metal mouth".
Most importantly, choose only an experienced orthodontist. This may be obvious, but if you don't you may experience pain and even permanent damage to your teeth.

Once you get your braces installed, is also very important that you brush your teeth after every meal. And, floss between you teeth. With braces in your mouth, food can easily get trapped in teeth, and if not keep clean, cavity-causing bacteria can be a real problem.
If possible use only a top-quality electric tooth brush. Why? Because a top-of -the-line brand cleans at a high speed, yet with very gentle strokes. . Preferably use only fluoride toothpaste.
Listen to your orthodontist, and assure yourself that you are purchasing the correct type of dental braces. You will want your braces be functional, yet aesthetically pleasing.

Help In Making Denture Implants More Affordable!

by Thom Richards

Look in your local newspaper. Hardly a day goes by that there isn't an ad for dental, or denture implants.. Usually, the ad shows someone in a "before photo" with crooked uneven teeth, and smile. Then you see an "after the procedure photo"; this same person who now has perfectly straight teeth and a gorgeous smile.
Is this false advertising? No! Believe it, or not with today's advanced cosmetic dental procedures these results can be easily achieved with dental implants.
Just exactly what are dental or denture implants?
First they implant a small metallic device into the jaw bone (like a screw). In turn, a false tooth (mini-implant), or even a set of false teeth can be anchored onto these devices. What is important is that there is enough healthy jaw bone to safely anchor the metallic devices.
Most people think of false teeth (dentures) as something that are removable from your mouth, and that you set aside at night. In this process, dentures that are anchored to the metallic implants are permanent and not removable.

Unfortunately, dental implant procedures are not particularly affordable. They start out in the $1,200 per tooth range, and the cost spirals upwards depending upon whether or not regeneration of your jawbone is needed. And, for other physical problems that might interfere with a successful dental implant.
Unfortunately, dental or denture implants are considered cosmetic dentistry and most dental insurance companies will not cover them. Fortunately, with what is called a discount dental plan, you can save ten to sixty percent on dental procedures including denture implants.
Are discount dental plans a solution in helping make denture implants more

Basic Dental Hygiene Prevents Larger, More Expensive Problems

by Donovan Baldwin

We hear a lot about the value of practicing "good dental hygiene", but it is often assumed that we already know what that means. Even more, we tend to assume that we know what the results of such a regular practice is going to be.
Most of us only go so far as to think about the condition of our teeth, however, and perhaps our personal appearance. Occasionally, we may also give some thought to the fact that if we took better care of our teeth, we would have fewer visits to the dentist. We understand at some level that we would not require such drastic dental procedures as fillings, extractions, and root canals. We realize, at least to some extent, that we would possibly look and feel better...not to mention experience less pain...were our dental hygiene habits a little better. We can even grasp that the actual expense of after-the-fact dental procedures will be much greater than the cost associated with just keeping our teeth and gums healthy on a day-to-day basis.
However, most of us never put the whole package together and realize the total impact that neglecting basic dental hygiene can have on us. Not only will our wallets and jaws be impacted, time taken from our daily activities either as we perform our daily required dental care, or as we visit the dentist later to correct the conditions which developed as a result of our negligence. Even worse, we will probably experience unnecessary pain, ill-health, and possible early death, or at least debilitating conditions, as a result of not doing the few simple and relatively inexpensive steps which would take care of the situation before it has a chance to occur.
THE OBVIOUS RESULTS OF POOR DENTAL HYGIENE
Obviously, for most of us, poor dental hygiene leads to cavities (dental caries). Cavities are holes in the teeth which need to be filled by a dentist. From a cost point of view, filling a cavity can cost anywhere from $100 on up. Some particular situations and solutions can cost as much as $1,000 or even more.
Some teeth will be in very bad shape, but can be saved by means of a root canal. The cost of a root canal can be in the high hundreds, and possibly in the thousands of dollars. Some teeth which cannot be saved will have to be extracted. A ballpark cost for tooth extraction is between $75 and $150, although special situations and complications could run that cost even higher, of course.

Not only is there the cash cost of the dental procedures to consider, but there will usually be pain associated with the condition as well. Many of these situations could be prevented by regular, basic dental hygiene steps, thus saving both money and discomfort. Sometimes these situations, and/or the procedure used to correct them, may affect the individual's appearance, thus negatively impacting their own self image and self esteem. Additionally, if someone has been neglecting the care of their teeth, gums, and mouth, then several teeth may be impacted, creating even more cost in terms of money, pain, and perhaps lowered self esteem.
MORE HEALTH ISSUES RELATED TO POOR DENTAL HYGIENE
For some time, dental health care providers have been aware that diseases and conditions of the mouth, teeth, and gums could contribute to some other health issues. Recent studies have not only confirmed this knowledge but has broadened it as well. Without going into detail here, suffice it to say that poor dental hygiene has now been linked to many diseases and debilitating conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and even cancer.
A life filled with disease and pain and all the types of costs associated with that can be the result of neglecting to take a few simple, and relatively inexpensive, steps towards a healthy mouth and gums.
STEPS FOR HEALTHY DENTAL HYGIENE
Regular Brushing and Flossing - One of the first steps someone can take on the road to proper dental hygiene is quite simply to brush their teeth at least twice a day and to floss once a day. While it is recommended by some to brush in the morning and before bed, it could be of value to at least squeeze it in somewhere in the day. Flossing removes the plaque which builds up around teeth. Plaque will eventually lead to tooth decay, and removing it regularly is a major step in the prevention of cavities which will need to be filled or even teeth which will need to be extracted or be saved by a root canal.
Use a Toothpaste Containing Fluoride - Such toothpastes will help prevent the growth of plaque while strengthening the enamel of the tooth itself. Mouthwashes with fluoride and plaque-preventing ingredients may help as well.
Avoid Sugar - This tip could be included in a great many articles. Not only does sugar help promote the growth of plaque, but it also contributes to unnecessary weigh gain. Since over 65% of the adult population of America is overweight, cutting sugar from our diets could have a double whammy in favor of good health
Avoid Tobacco - While smoking and chewing may or may not have any direct effect on the teeth themselves, tobacco products can contribute to diseases of the gums and mouth, including oral cancer.
Visit Your Dentist Regularly - A dentist can spot a developing cavity or other condition before it becomes a big, expensive problem. Bad things may be happening in your mouth, or your child's mouth, that you may not be aware of, but the dentist can discern and possibly take steps to correct. The dentist's office will also commonly offer a cleaning that will be far better than what you can normally do at home yourself.
Even if you skip all the other steps, visiting your dentist a couple of times a year just for a checkup and cleaning could go a long way to keeping your teeth, gums, and mouth in a healthy condition.
THE COST OF VISITING THE DENTIST
It is assumed by most people that visiting the dentist is both painful and expensive. However, the cost of a regular checkup is nothing compared to the costs associated with fillings, extractions, root canals, and related dental health care. Those who are lucky enough to have some sort of dental health care benefits, either through dental insurance or a prepaid dental health care plan, may find that their benefits include regular checkups and cleanings that are either free or relatively inexpensive.
IN SUMMATION
The cost of poor dental hygiene can be great, the cost of good dental hygiene is small in comparison. However, the results of proper dental care can be a return which is much greater than the costs involved. Take care of your teeth for good health, good appearance, and a life less endangered by ill-health and pain.

Holistic Dentistry Comes of Age

by Zach Grillis

With the advent of holistic medicine and natural health in the western world it only makes sense that dentistry profession be a part of it. Rather than focus on one area of a person's body, holistic dentistry is concerned with the patient's overall health. Holistic dentistry is based on the same notion that what affects the mouth affects the body, and vice versa. Our bodies are a system and should be treated that way instead of just a group of parts.
For instance, one point of difference for a holistic dentist may be their treatment of toxic silver mercury fillings. Mercury is known to have long term negative effects on our body. So if someone needs work on a filling, even having it removed and replaced with a safer alternative, a holistic dentist would take precautions to ensure that you are not exposed to any gases emitted during and procedure an that you don't end up swallowing any either. A holistic dentist makes sure the water from his office is filtered of these hazardous waste products before they reach the municipal water system.

Material compatibility testing helps those patients concerned with a reaction to certain dental materials. A holistic dentist will do extensive tests to determine what materials are the most biocompatible.
This is a particular concern for people who have any potential sensitivities and are planning cosmetic dentistry work. Cosmetic dentists make porcelain, veneers, inlays, crowns and other restorations to give you that perfect smile!
Obviously finding someone trained in both cosmetic dentistry and holistic dentistry can offer you the best of both worlds.

The Pros and Cons of Porcelain Inlays

by Jordan Heften

Perhaps you have heard of the new trend in people having porcelain inlays installed in their teeth instead of convention fillings made from a metal amalgam comprised of mercury and silver or gold. For some people, its a decision made because they are uncomfortable with the mercury that is in the filling amalgam, while for others the reason is purely cosmetic.
This is because porcelain inlays are the same color as the tooth itself, so they tend to blend right in with the rest of the tooth. Is there other reasons why a person might or might not choose porcelain inlays for their next filling? One of the down sides of porcelain inlays is that they take two dentist visits to have installed, unlike a standard metal filling that takes only one visit.

This is because the porcelain inlay has to be made in a dental lab from a mold that is taken during the first visit. One more positive side of porcelain inlays however, is that unlike metal fillings they are far less susceptible to expansion and contraction caused by eating or drinking very cold or very hot foods and drinks.
This means that they will last longer and can never cause the tooth to crack. Also porcelain inlays tend to be far more secure over the long run, because they are actually glued into the tooth with a high tech dental adhesive.
Standard metal filings aren't glued in but rather are packed into a crevice that is shaped in such a way that the filling is "locked" into place when it is completed. Also, because porcelain inlays take two visits to have completely installed and have to be special made in a dental lab they of course are more expensive then a standard metal filling.

How To Brush Your Teeth Correctly - Personal Dental Care

by Don Robertson

Dental care by brushing may date as far back as the Babylonians and their ingenious use of a twig. We are fortunate that we do not have to cut a twig, fray the end and scrub our teeth with such a tool.
Today we have an assortment of tooth brushes available to us for our dental needs. Brushes range from a straight brush with bristles ranging from very soft to extremely stiff, to rotary electric brushes and brushes that use sound waves to blast plaque from the recesses of our teeth.
Our choices are abundant, but the most important thing is that we brush!
You should brush your teeth at least twice a day. A soft bristle will clean without damaging the gums. Also be careful. Many of us think in an over-abundant mode. If 2 minutes is good then wouldn't five or ten minutes be better.
Your teeth are with you for life. After your permanent teeth come in, there are no more natural replacements. Excessive brushing, over time will wear down the enamel and cause premature damage to your teeth. It may also damage your gums. So stick with the two minute limit. That will allow plenty of time to clean your teeth and gums.
We talk about brushing our teeth. But in effect, you are cleaning your mouth. Bacteria forms everywhere in your mouth, not just on your teeth. So take the time to gently brush your gums, the inside of your cheeks and yes, your tongue.

Many brands of toothpaste are available. Any brand that provides you with fluoride protection is usually good. Be careful to ensure that it does not have abrasive cleaning material in the paste. This too, over time and you certainly want to be around for a long time, can cause excessive wear to your teeth.
You do not need a large glob of toothpaste on your brush. Don't follow the example of the commercials where they squeeze toothpaste the length of the bristles. Yes this will sell more toothpaste but it will not increase the effectiveness. You only need a small amount, about the size of a pea, too clean your teeth.
To brush effectively:
1) Use a soft bristle brush.
2) Use fluoride toothpaste with no abrasive compound included.
3) Brush for two minutes.
4) Brush your gums, inside cheeks and tongue.
5) And brush twice a day.
If you will consistently apply these simple rules, along with correct and conscientious flossing, you will enjoy excellent dental care. Look for correct flossing techniques in another article.

Botox - Complementing Cosmetic Dentistry

by Al Cox and Ivan C

People who are interested in a complete smile makeover may consider several dental procedures in order to achieve a Hollywood smile, but in some cases dental enhancement isn't enough in order to correct the effect time has in our skin, particularly in our face. Taking the factors in consideration the cosmetic dentists have decided to add yet one more service to their already extensive list of services, Botox application.
Using dermal fillers in conjunction with Botox can provide the best results when it comes to age reversal. The application of Botox is virtually pain-free and compared to other treatments is a very effective nonsurgical wrinkle removal technique which is available to patients who not only are interested in oral anesthetics.
A few of the advantages of Botox provides is that its price and is very low compared to other procedures which are meant for wrinkle removal and age reversal, the entire process only takes a few minutes and there is virtually no recovery time involved, this makes it very attractive to people who did not want to spend time recovering after a painful surgery and it's also equally appealing to people who like to see fast results without risking their health.

Common areas where Botox is applied are: the forehead, the lips, neck, etc. these are usually areas where thermal collagen has worn off, and where a little extra boost is much needed and immediately noticeable.
When this procedure is combined with a professional smile makeover a patient may appear to be 10 to 15 years younger, this is a very realistic estimate. These age reversal techniques are often used by Hollywood stars who need to look young and invigorated basically at all times, everyday folks would be impressed by the dramatic changes that a combination of cosmetic dentistry and dermal fillers can have in a person.
Those who are concerned about how safe Botox really is should know that the FDA approved the substance back in 1989 and in the year 2001 alone around 1.6 million people use this substance for cosmetic purposes. Botox relaxes the muscles and prevents them from causing wrinkles or lines in our skin which is why many people prefare this non-invasive procedure over surgery.

Your Personal Mouth Cleanliness Habits
Brushing and flossing your teeth on a daily basis is a vital part of keeping your mouth clean and eliminating any bad breath problems which may arise due to particles of food remaining in between your teeth after eating. Clean your mouth thoroughly by removing any stale coating from your tongue as this is also a main cause for bad breath. All Natural Health - 7 Steps to Getting Ready For Mercury Filling Removal

by Annika Ek

Do you still have mercury amalgam fillings in your mouth? You have probably heard that they are linked to many conditions like depression, chronic fatigue, thyroid problems, food allergies and yeast conditions, to just name a few...
You may say that your mercury fillings are not causing you any trouble, which is great, but don't wait until you have symptoms to have them removed. Removing the mercury fillings will cause them to release even more mercury, so it is better to do it when you are in good shape and properly prepared.
For many toxic substances no symptoms are notices until a critical level is reached or you are compromised in other ways, like through great emotional stress. Mercury leaves the tooth as a vapor when you eat, drink and brush your teeth, and it enters and accumulates in your body.
But don't rush out now to have your fillings removed immediately. It is important that you find the right dentist to do the job and take the time to prime your body before removing these toxic fillings. Even if you think you have no mercury fillings left, it may be worthwhile to visit a biological dentist to make sure all of it is actually gone.
1. Find the Right Dentist for the Job
To find a mercury free or biological dentist, ask around or search through any of these organizations:
- International Association of Mercury Free Dentist (IAMFD) 800 335 7755
- International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology ( IAOMT ) (863) 429-6373
- International Association of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (281) 651-1745
- Holistic Dental Association (619) 923-3120

2. Ask the Right Questions
Here are a few questions you are smart to ask your dentist before you book your appointment to have your fillings removed.
- How many fillings are removed at one time? The answer to this question will depend on your general state of health; just make sure that only one quadrant of your mouth is worked on at each visit, this is to make sure meridians are not messed with.
- How are you protected during the procedure? Make sure you get oxygen, vitamin C, cotton or a rubber dam in your mouth and activated charcoal to take after the procedure.
- Do they offer bio-compatibility testing for the material that will replace the mercury? If it is not done in the office, ask for a referral to someone who can help.
It is wise to follow the suggestions below for 3-4 weeks before starting removal of your mercury fillings.
3. Eat the Right Diet
Eat a diet limited in sugar and processed foods, but make sure your diet is high in protein since the sulfur bearing amino acids will help in the detoxification.
4. Tune Up Your Liver & Kidneys
Start with a liver & kidney cleanse so they are ready to deal with the increased mercury levels right after the removal of the fillings. Use herbs and drainage remedies to do this.
5. Stock Up on the Good Minerals & Antioxidants
Vitamin C and Vitamin E are antioxidants and will help protect your cells against free radical activity. Take 250 - 500 mg of vitamin C with every meal and 400 units of vitamin E daily.
Supplementing with quality minerals to ensure a healthy mineral base is also essential, since the body is forced to use toxic metals if there are no others around. Especially the trace minerals selenium and zinc are important in mercury detoxification, but avoid extra copper and iron, unless instructed otherwise by your health care practitioner.
Minerals need sufficient hydrochloric acid in the stomach to be ionized and absorbed into the body where it is needed. If you are over age 50 or have food allergies it is recommended that you take a digestive enzyme with hydrochloric acid (Betaine Hydrochloride) at the beginning of your meal.
6. Culture Your Internal Garden
Take a high potency quality strain of probiotics, like HMF Super Powder from Genestra. This is to make sure you have a strong intestinal flora to support you during the detox.
7. Be Very Regular
Since 90% of mercury leaves the body through the bowel make sure it is moving well, or you may end up making things worse! You should have 1 -2 bowel movements daily. If you need help to get your bowel going take 3 tbsp of Hemp Seeds daily, drink lots of water and take a green powder that is naturally high in magnesium.
A final caution to not start chelating with products like chlorella and cilantro until all the fillings are removed, since you don't want to start pulling mercury out of your teeth and in to your system. This is only done AFTER all the fillings are removed.
Watch for Part II of this article series and learn what to do on the day of the removal and how to detox afterwards.

Where to Find Invisalign - Who do You Know?

by Blake Abel

It would be silly for me to give locations of dentists that offer Invisalign and tell you exactly where to go for treatment. There are just too many. If that is what you are looking for than you can stop reading now. There are a lot of options out there for people who are looking for the Invisalign treatment. This article addresses how to go about getting Invisalign, the best places to look and what to expect when you walk into the great smelling dentist office.
The initial stage in the process must starts with you wanting to change your smile. It may seem like a hassle to many, to have braces on for a year or so and deal with the pain and embarrassment. However many people we have talked to are thrilled they went ahead with it and have enjoyed improved confidence and smiles from this experience. Once you have overcome this initial fear you are ready to read on.
The Second Stage would consist of reading articles like this one and others that are informative and let you know exactly what you are getting into. Archwired, Invisalign, and Antibraces are all great .com websites that can give you information on the Invisalign treatment and the comparisons with braces, side-effects, and what to expect. If you like what you read and hear start looking for a dentist...

Here is the tricky part; because there are so many dentists/orthodontists out there that offer the Invisalign treatment at SO many different prices it is difficult to know who to choose. Here are a couple of ways you can improve and narrow your search.
1. Every Dentist charges a different amount for Invisalign. This is due to how much Invisalign charges the dentist for their product. It is not necessarily that one dentist charges $6,000 to rip you off and the other charges $3000 cause he's a nice guy, it is because Invisalign charges different amounts to their customers (the dentists) depending on the dentist and how much Invisalign treatments he orders.
2. Where to look: A place to look for the low-cost or most experienced dentists (not necessarily the most expensive) is the Invisalign website. They have a great directory that allows you to see the rankings and stars of various dentists that use their product. You can search by zip code as well to see if there is one in your area. There are forums out there as well of people in your area that may have advice
You have made it into the beautiful dentist office that smells like salmonella and perfume and you are ready to get the treatment. Make sure that you know the cost and what your Insurance covers before committing and get ready to have a better smile, because it is totally worth the time and effort you will put into it. Ask others around you as well, they may have gone through the same issues and difficult decisions you are attempting. There are always people out there who want to help create awareness and give you a better smile.

How Can I Banish Bad Breath - Get Rid Of The Nasty Smell

by Doug Pace

Anyone who suffers from this problem understands how humiliating it can be. Your confidence level seems to take a dip because you lose some of your self esteem when people walk away from you or even tell you about your problem. This article is geared towards providing you with some valuable information; if you have constantly asked yourself the question "how can i banish bad breath" Then you will receive some useful tips here.
1. Halitosis is caused by decayed food particles between your teeth and at the gum line. The bacteria that is in your mouth is cause of the smelly odor that comes from your mouth; which is especially more noticeable in the morning. To help get rid of your bad breath you should begin brushing your teeth at least twice a day and if possible after each and every meal. You should also make it a daily habit to floss every night before you go to sleep. This will actually help prevent the bacteria from accumulating during the night.
2. Stay away from foods that can cause your breath to smell. Foods like fish, onions, coffee and caffeinated beverages can cause an odor in your mouth. Begin eating foods that can help your breath smell better like parsley, cilantro and ginger; eat these foods raw.

3. Keep your mouth from becoming dry by drinking more water. Bacteria will grow more easily in your mouth if you do not keep it moist. Begin by drinking two liters of water a day which can help clean out the bodies toxins. Drinking more water will keep your mouth moist and will help wash out the food particles that are left in your mouth and between your teeth.
4. Cleanse your colon on a regular basis; this will help banish bad breath. Whether you choose to believe it your colon can be responsible for your bad breath, it is tied directly to your mouth; and if your colon is filthy your breath will see the effects of it. You can easily begin cleansing your colon by eating more bran or using a herbal laxative. Before you purchase a laxative to use; you should visit your family doctor to see what he recommends.
5. Visit your dentist on a regular basis; this alone can prevent this problem. By visiting your dentist and doing all the preventative work this can help reduce any problems like bad breath, cavities or anything else that may be a problem.
By taking proper oral hygiene care you can begin to gain your confidence back. You will begin to notice that people will be able to stand around you without pulling away from you. If you do not think you have bad breath all you have to do is lick the back of your hand and smell it; that will let you know what others are smelling when you talk to them. If you found these tips on "how can I banish bad breath" helpful then visit our website below for more helpful tips on how to use natural products to keep you mouth nice and clean.
